About the Institute:

Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh

Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kurnool is an autonomous institute established in 2015. It is fully funded and managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. It is aimed to become a Centre of Excellence for pursuing Design and Manufacturing oriented Engineering Education and Research domains. As on date, the Institute is offering 3 B.Tech programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has allocated 190 acres on the outskirts of  Kurnool located at Dinnidevarapadu Village and about 12 Kms from Kurnool City Railway station, and development of the permanent campus is in progress. As per the Detailed Project Report (DPR), fully residential campus(all students residing within the campus) is being developed with funding of approximately 297 crores. Currently, the institute is functioning in a transient building containing academic wing, administrative wing, lecture halls, seminar hall, and laboratory blocks.


As per the JoSAA schedule, the students who have been allotted B.Tech. seat at IITDM Kurnool are required to report at IIITDM Kurnool campus between 19 and 23 July 2019 (10:00 A.M.- 4:00 P.M) to complete their admission process. Fee Structure:
The fee structure of IIITDM Kurnool is given in the following link

Note: Only those students who freeze their seats (at IIITDM Kurnool) are required to pay the fee at the time of admission.

 

Fee payable = Fee at IIIDM Kurnool – Seat Acceptance fee (₹33,500/₹13,500)*.

 

*  CSAB 2019 will retain ₹1,500/- as the processing fee from the acceptance fee. Therefore, the acceptance fee used for calculating fee payable is ₹33,500/₹13,500. The fee payable is:

 

GEN: ₹85,800/-

GEN-PwD/GEN-EWS-PwD/OBC-NCL-PWD: ₹1,05,800/-

SC/ST/SC-PwD/ST-PwD: ₹46,400/-

 

The prospective students have to pay the above fee in the form of Demand Draft in favour of “IIITDM Kurnool” payable at Kurnool.

Academic Structure:
The following programmes are being currently offered by IIITDM Kurnool for undergraduate admissions.

  1. B.Tech. in Computer Engineering
  2. B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering with specialization in Design and Manufacturing.
  3. B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Design and Manufacturing

Apart from these programmes, IIITDM Kurnool is also offering Ph. D. in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics from this session. Institute will also be starting M. Tech programmes from the calendar year 2020-21 onward.

Rules For Change Branch:
Branch Change rules are as follows:
  1. Change of discipline from one branch to another branch may be permitted at the end of the first year of study.
  2. The CPGA of the first and second semester will be the basis for consideration for branch change.
  3. All students who have successfully completed all prescribed course of the first year in one attempt (without backlogs) are only eligible for branch change subject to the availability of vacancies.
  4. In making a change of branch the strength of a class should not fall below the existing strength by more than ten percent and should not go above the sanctioned strength by more than ten percent. For this purpose, the strength in both cases refers to the total strength of the students in the class.
  5. However, a minimum of one student will be eligible for consideration for a change of branch from each discipline at the end of the first year irrespective of the regulation 4.
  6. If a student with a higher GPA is not offered a particular branch because of other constraints this should not be offered to any other students with a lower GPA even if he is eligible on the basis of the existing norms.

Facilities:
1. Hostel accommodation: Hostels in the campus are on the verge of completion and will be ready to occupy by July/August 2019. Meanwhile, students are being provided with accommodation in a rented hostel close to the institute campus. Separate accommodation for boys and girl is being provided.

2. Transportation: The institute is hiring a fleet of buses for facilitating the students to commute from the hostel to the institute and back.

3. Internet Facility: We have a WiFi enabled academic area with the Internet facility being provided in every lab and across the classrooms.

4. Seminar Hall: The Institute has an AC Seminar Hall with a capacity of around 150 people. It is being used for conducting meetings, seminars, workshops, and classes.

5. Canteen: The institute has a cafeteria which serves different items at very reasonable rates.

6. Library: The Central Library of the institute has a collection of more than 2200 books. It has a sufficient number of copies of textbooks and reference books for the courses being offered. The Central Library also subscribes to more than 23 journals, magazines, and newspapers.

7. LABS: The Institute has an air-conditioned, specialized, high-end equipments in each laboratory. Labs have advanced testing and controlling equipments like Real-time Spectrum analyzer, DAC Hardware, 
Isolated mixed domain oscilloscope, EMC probe set, Line Impedance stabilization network LISN, Electro pneumatics with PLC, High Voltage Probe. Apart from that, labs also have softwares like MATLAB, VIVADO, CATIA V5, ANSYS, LAB VIEW, AUTO CAD and SKETCH BOOK PRO.
Student Life at Institute:

IIITDM Kurnool strives to provide a conducive environment to the students so that after completion of the course they are industry ready. In this regard, we extend academic help to students beyond the regular class teaching. We have signed MOU with CodeTantra to provide online support for students to enhance their coding skills. Different departments are also in the process of establishing technical associations. These associations will be responsible for organizing technical activities in collaboration with IEEE, ACM, ISTE, IEI, and CSI. To reduce the boredom arising out of rigorous academic activities, the institute encourages students to pursue extra-curricular activities.  The institute also encourages students for participation in cultural and sports events within and outside the institute. In the past, students have participated in the inter IIITs Sports Meet. SOLASKA a Techno-cultural fest is being organized every year at the institute for students to showcase their talent.

Financial Assistance:
The Institute does not offer any financial assistantship for students. However, students are encouraged to apply and get a scholarship from the state and central government.
Industry And Alumni Relations:

IIITDM Kurnool signed MoU with CodeTantra on 11th March 2019. Students are being provided free access to CodeTantra’s i-learning platform where they can enroll in their online courses. More MoUs are in the pipeline such as one with Edureka, an online education marketplace, and another with VARCAS automobiles. The latter one is with an automobile company, which manufactures electric vehicles and would be an appropriate industry collaboration to kick start some interdisciplinary research as part of content beyond the syllabus. Apart from that on-campus lectures from the eminent people of industries are also being organized regularly. Industry professionals also guide the students and the faculty about the current skill set required in the industry. 

Recreational/Extra Curricular activities:

IIITDM Kurnool offers plenty of opportunities for the holistic development of Students. From time to time it organizes different events where students can showcase their talent. IoT Challenge 2k19, Pongal/Bihu/Lohri Celebration, Republic Day, Republic Run 2k19,  Sanskriti 2k19,  Women’s Day were organized, where students were encouraged to exhibit their talent. Apart from that, IIITDM Kurnool also organizes Techno-cultural fest SOLASKA every year. To keep abreast about the latest trends in the industry, special lectures from the top brass of the same are arranged on a regular basis. 

For students interested in sports, Inter-IIIT tournament is a perfect platform to compete with participants from across the country. Our students have participated in this tournament and won medals for the institute.

You can get an auto from the Railway station or Bus stop to IIITDM Kurnool. The autorickshaw will charge you approximately Rs 200. The important landmark in between Kurnool city and IIITDM Kurnool are 1. C-camp 2. G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College and 3. Jaganathagattu temple.
